Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.2% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 985,574 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,910 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,804 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 985,286 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 1.1% decrease compared to Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.2% while hydro plants comprised 17%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,453 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,123 megawatt-hours.
