Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 15.7% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 883,793 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,441 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,445 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 888,913 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 15.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 30.3% of total generation, while solar and wind plants contributed 16.7% and 14%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 6,859 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,700 megawatt-hours.
