Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.3% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,171,726 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 56,119 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 38,790 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,194,425 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an increase of about 1.3% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21.9% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 20% and 15.5%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 23,082 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 473 megawatt-hours.
