Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 9.3% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,027,948 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,762 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,407 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,050,189 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of about 9.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 18.4% and 16.6%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 25,633 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,408 megawatt-hours.
