The number of oil rigs in the US decreased by one this week, according to the latest data released by oilfield services company Baker Hughes on Friday.
The number of oil rigs, an indicator of short-term production in the country, fell by one to 410 for the week ending April 17.
The number of US oil rigs decreased by 63 compared to one year ago.
The price of international benchmark Brent crude stood at $90.38 per barrel at Friday's trading close, down from $99.39 on Thursday.
American benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was at $83.85 a barrel at Friday's close, compared to $94.69 on Thursday.
