Equinor, together with its partners Petoro and Wellesley Petroleum, discovered oil and gas in the North Sea's Swisher prospect, Equinor announced in a statement on Wednesday.
The company confirmed that estimated recoverable resources are between 13 and 38 million barrels of oil equivalent.
“We are working continuously on keeping an exploration portfolio that forms the basis for high-value creation and in addition can be produced with a low carbon footprint. This discovery contributes to reaching this goal,” Nick Ashton, Equinor’s senior vice president for exploration in Norway, was quoted as saying in the statement.
