Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 12.3% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,085,153 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 51,890 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,502 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,104,921 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of about 11.9% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 21.6% of total generation, while wind and imported coal contributed 19.5% and 17%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 20,989 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 934 megawatt-hours.
