Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 4.39% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,035,397 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,382 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,858 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,058,137 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of about 4.17% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 21.8% of total generation, while imported coal plants and solar energy contributed 19.7% and 16%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 23,761 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,089 megawatt-hours.
