Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.34% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,083,208 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,555 megawatt-hours at 4 p.m. local time (1300 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,966 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,104,417 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of about 1.46% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 22.2% of total generation, while imported coal and solar energy contributed 20.9% and 16%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 22,037 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 441 megawatt-hours.
