Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 10.1% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 966,071 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,834 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,586 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 987,333 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of about 9.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 20.5% of total generation, while dam-based hydroelectricity plants and solar power plants contributed 20.1% and 16.8%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 24,309 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,083 megawatt-hours.
