Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 11.3% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,021,648 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,700 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,395 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,042,382 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of about 11.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 22.7% of total generation, while imported coal and wind power contributed 19.1% and 18.7%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 22,278 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,638 megawatt-hours.
