Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 1.5% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,036,271 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,078 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,153 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,055,202 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a decrease of about 1.5% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 23.7% of total generation, while imported coal plants and lignite plants contributed 22.3% and 11.6%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 20,556 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,677 megawatt-hours.
