Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 10.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 927,849 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,541 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,817 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 952,444 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 9.9% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 22% of total generation, while imported coal plants and lignite plants contributed 20.3% and 12.8%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 25,215 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 622 megawatt-hours.
