Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.7% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 974,482 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,662 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,112 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 995,505 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of about 1.6% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dammed hydro plants accounted for around 24% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 20.4% and 15.3%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 21,457 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 553 megawatt-hours.
