Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.73% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,013,069 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,687 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,756 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,033,571 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of about 1.76% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dammed hydro plants accounted for around 21.6% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 21.5% and 11.8%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 20,852 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 533 megawatt-hours.
