Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 12.3% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,109,268 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,420 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,325 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,131,667 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of about 11.8% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 23.5% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 19.1% and 14.6%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 24,426 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,091 megawatt-hours.
