Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.7% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,208,848 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 57,449 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 40,409 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,230,519 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of about 0.6% compared to the previous day.
Production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21.3% of total generation, while imported coal plants and natural gas plants contributed 19.1% and 15.4%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 23,617 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,025 megawatt-hours.
