Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 4.55% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,153,735 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,970 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 39,856 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,175,205 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of about 4.49% compared to the previous day.
Production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21.5% of total generation, while imported coal plants and solar energy plants contributed 18.1% and 15.1%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 24,181 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,703 megawatt-hours.
