Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 14.7% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,179,578 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 57,413 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,536 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,201,152 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of about 14.4% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 20% of total generation, while imported coal and wind contributed 19.1% and 16.3%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 22,423 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 822 megawatt-hours.
