Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.02% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,082,975 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 51,320 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,881 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,104,134 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of about 0.02% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 21.1% of total generation, while dam-based hydro plants and solar energy contributed 21% and 15.9%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 21,547 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 494 megawatt-hours.
