Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 4.4% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,074,537 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,394 megawatt-hours at 2 p.m. local time (1100 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,938 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,092,979 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of about 4.5% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 23.3% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 19.6% and 15.9%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 21,983 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,208 megawatt-hours.
