Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 0.5% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,133,108 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,765 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 37,113 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,155,736 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of about 0.5% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 20.6% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 20.2% and 15.7%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 23,510 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 905 megawatt-hours.
