Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 1.9% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,064,166 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,392 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,704 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,083,457 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a decrease of about 1.94% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 21.3% of total generation, while wind and solar energy contributed 18.7% and 16.5%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 21,181 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,782 megawatt-hours.
