Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 10.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 987,808 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,202 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,959 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,012,133 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of about 9.9% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 20.1% of total generation, while wind and imported coal plants contributed 17.3% and 15.9%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 25,678 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,378 megawatt-hours.
