Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 14.8% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,162,493 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 56,400 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,846 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,184,277 megawatt-hours on Monday marking a rise of about 14.4% compared to the previous day.
Production from imported coal plants accounted for around 20.2% of total generation, while dam-based hydroelectricity plants and solar energy contributed 19.5% and 15.4%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 23,111 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,089 megawatt-hours.
