Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 0.5% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,226,378 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 58,670 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 40,787 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,247,554 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an increase of around 0.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21.1% of total generation, while wind energy and imported coal contributed 20.4% and 18.7%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 23,600 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,483 megawatt-hours.
