Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 9.31% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,046,257 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,970 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 39,856 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,068,369 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 9.09% compared to the previous day.
Production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 20.6% of total generation, while wind energy and imported coal plants contributed 20.3% and 15.9%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 25,083 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,977 megawatt-hours.
