Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 14.1% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,193,653 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 57,730 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 37,944 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,215,035 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a increase of about 13.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21.76% of total generation, while imported coal and wind contributed 17.88% and 17.85%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 23,399 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,049 megawatt-hours.
