Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 0.6% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 966,693 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,573 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,713 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 985,002 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a decrease of about 0.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from wind power plants accounted for around 22.3% of total generation, while hydroelectric power plants and imported coal plants contributed 20.8% and 17.1%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 19,937 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,686 megawatt-hours.
