Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 0.7% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 944,511 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,455 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,359 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 960,981 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of about 0.9% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from wind power plants accounted for around 25.1% of total generation, while hydroelectric power plants and imported coal plants contributed 20.7% and 16%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 18,406 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,072 megawatt-hours.
