Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 2.1% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 978,198 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,116 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,366 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 987,953 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of about 2.2 % compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 28.8% of total generation, while wind and imported coal contributed 23% and 10.6%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 10,406 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 483 megawatt-hours.
