Türkiye's solar electricity generation reached its highest level of the year on Monday, accounting for 16.3% of total power generation, according to data released on Tuesday by the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS).
The country produced 905,824 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity on a daily basis on Monday.
Hydroelectricity plants ranked first in electricity generation with a 32.4% share, followed by solar power plants at 16.3% and natural gas plants at 14.7%.
Electricity generation from solar energy in Türkiye reached a record high of 147,753 megawatts on a daily basis, marking the highest level of the year.
Meanwhile, daily electricity consumption stood at 901,674 megawatt-hours. The highest consumption during the day was recorded at 42,762 MW at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), while the lowest was 29,004 MW at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT) , TEIAS data showed.
On the same day, Türkiye's electricity exports reached 9,857 MWh, while imports totaled 5,462 MWh.
