Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 11.3 % on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 828,839 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,724 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,789 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 837,745 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 10.9% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 34.7% of total generation, while solar and lignite contributed 14.5% and 11.4%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,800 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 853 megawatt-hours.
