Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 17.3% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 954,714 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,821 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,294 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 959,638 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 17% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 31.5% of total generation, while wind and run-of-river hydropower plants contributed 15.1% and 10.3%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,745 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,586 megawatt-hours.
