Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 8.7% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,022,425 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,099 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity consumption dropped to the lowest level of 35,566 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,028,853 megawatt-hours on Sunday marking a fall of about 8.2% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 20.4% of total generation, while imported coal and wind solar plants contributed 18.7% and 18.2%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 11,198 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,600 megawatt-hours.
