Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 14.6% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,172,165 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 57,337 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity consumption dropped to the lowest level of 36,378 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,174,277 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 14.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21.1% of total generation, while imported coal and wind solar plants contributed 20% and 15.9%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,757 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 6,508 megawatt-hours.
