Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 9.02% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,161,987 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 55,676 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity consumption dropped to the lowest level of 37,439 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,164,108 megawatt-hours on Thursday marking a fall of about 9.35% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 20% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 19.5% and 16.2%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,285 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 7,339 megawatt-hours.
