Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 3.1% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,087,118 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,565 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,418 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,092,668 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of about 2.9% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 23.2% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power contributed 16.5% and 16.4%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,473 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,939 megawatt-hours.
