Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 8.76% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 978,285 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,409 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity consumption dropped to the lowest level of 34,598 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,073,005 megawatt-hours on Sunday marking a down of about 8.15% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 19.8% of total generation, while solar power plants and imported coal contributed 18.8% and 18%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 10,700 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,528 megawatt-hours.
