Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 11.3% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 964,186 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,489 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity consumption dropped to the lowest level of 34,448 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 969,187 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 11.2% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 19% of total generation, while wind and solar power plants contributed 18.7% and 16.6%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,764 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,747 megawatt-hours.
