Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 15.4% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 969,994 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked 47,258 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,200 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 976,187 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of 15.2% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 28.3% of total generation, while solar and lignite contributed 17.9% and 12.1%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 10,422 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,293 megawatt-hours.
