Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.9% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,029,800 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,851 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,978 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,036,669 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a rise of 1.9% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 27% of total generation, while solar and natural gas plants contributed 17.7% and 11.7%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,636 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,872 megawatt-hours.
