Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 5.21% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 895,294 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,416 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,337 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 916,202 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of about 4.65% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from wind power plants accounted for around 26.5% of total generation, while hydroelectric power plants and imported coal plants contributed 19.05% and 13.3%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 22,026 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,227 megawatt-hours.
