Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye icreased 15.1% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 919,345 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,000 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,876 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 919,578 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 11.9% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from hydroelectric power plants accounted for around 22.4% of total generation, while imported coal plants and imported coal plants contributed 16.7% and 13.8%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,928 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1705 megawatt-hours.
