Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 10.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 798,480 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,587 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 20,509 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 821,348 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 10.4% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from wind power plants accounted for around 20.2% of total generation, while hydroelectric power plants and imported coal plants contributed 19.6% and 15%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 23,802 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 989 megawatt-hours.
