Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 11.7% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 921,094 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,559 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,125 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 928,864 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 11.4% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21.7% of total generation, while solar power and wind contributed 19% and 18.9%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 11,496 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,763 megawatt-hours.
