Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 2.2% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,010,734 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,364 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,731 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,015,800 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of about 2.3% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 26% of total generation, while wind and solar power contributed 20.7% and 14.1%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,610 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,555 megawatt-hours.
