Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 5.8% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,087,384 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 55,277 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 37,700 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,091,415 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of about 5.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21.5% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 18.8% and 15.6%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,218 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,120 megawatt-hours.
