Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 17.1% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,014,439 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,326 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,720 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,021,103 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 16.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 24.5% of total generation, while solar and wind power contributed 17.6% and 12.9%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,877 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,299 megawatt-hours.
