Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 9.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 866,003 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,706 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,578 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 874,501 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 9.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 25.6% of total generation, while solar and wind power contributed 17.8% and 16.4%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 11,520 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,766 megawatt-hours.
